Having fortified herself against temptation by her spiritual exercises, Shedimiel feels sufficiently purified to pray for guidance in the inner sanctum.

Though she remains wary, her resolve is even greater. Those women, though mere mortals, are not to be underestimated: they are determined, skilled, and now see her as an enemy. Even more dangerous is the spiritual threat of the sinful lives they lead. But she has been sent to fetch the one they call Conqueress. She will do so, and will display divine charity in the process, even if she has to beat her and every other woman on that island senseless in order to do it.
